President of EU's European Council Herman Van Rompuy today has been officially welcomed in Azerbaijan.
A guard of honor was lined up for the President of the European Council at the square decorated with the national flags of Azerbaijan and the EU.
Van Rompuy was welcomed by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. The President of the European Council inspected a ceremonial Guard of Honor as an orchestra played the national anthems of the EU and Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijani state and government officials were introduced to the President of the European Council, while members of the EU delegation were introduced to President Ilham Aliyev.
Later the two presidents posed for photographs.
