Iranian Vice President, head of the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism organisation, Hassan Mousavi, will visit Azerbaijan on September 5, the IRNA news agency reported on Monday.
On September 6-7, Mousavi will participate in the international conference on "A Taste of the Silk Road: food, culture and tourism," organized by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture and Tourism, World Tourism Organization (WTO) and the Association of Tourism of Azerbaijan.
Mousavi will deliver Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's letter to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
The WTO Secretary General, Taleb Rifai, rapporteurs and experts of the organization, dignitaries from national organizations of WTO member countries, local and foreign governmental and non-governmental organizations and representatives of the world's leading media are expected to attend the conference.
Azerbaijan is a member of the WTO Silk Road programme, which includes 28 countries, whose purpose is to ensure the development of tourism throughout the Silk Road through common efforts.
Conference participants will exchange views on the culinary experience of the Silk Road countries.
