Georgian Prime Minister Vano Merabishvili granted a petition of the Minister of Corrections and Legal Assistance Khatuna Kalmakhelidze's resignation, said on Wednesday the Georgian media.
Prior to that, he made a special statement on the torture facts shown on television and called them outrageous.
Prime Minister promised that all those who are responsible, including high-ranking officials, will be punished to the fullest extent of the law.
