Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is starting his visit to New York today, MEHR news agency reported.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is visiting New York to attend the UN General Assembly's regular session. Ahmadinejad is accompanied by about 100 officials and journalists.

According to the report, Iranian President appealed to the U.S. to visit the country with a delegation of 160 people, while some Iranian official failed to receive the U.S. visa, and only 100 officials received visa.

During his 7-day visit to New York, Ahmadinejad will address the UN General Assembly, as well as at several universities of the U.S. He will give interview to American media outlets and meet with Iranians residing in New York.

It should be noted that it is Ahmadinejad's eighth visit to New York.
