Azerbaijan, Baku, Sept. 26 / Trend /

The video with former Azerbaijani University rector Elshad Abdullayev and MP Gular Ahmadova that was spread by the online media outlets, has laid the basis for appropriate actions within the anti-corruption policy of the government, Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Social and Political Department Head Ali Hasanov said on Wednesday, expressing his views on the mentioned video.

"The fight against corruption and other negative phenomenon creating the obstacles to democratic development has recently strengthened and become systematic," Hasanov said.

He added that the public is constantly being informed about the measures conducted by relevant bodies within the Azerbaijani legislation.

"This video is the real proof of not only unfeasible wishes of people, like Elshad Abdullayev, to find illegal approaches to state bodies and gain a position, but also resistance of state bodies to such facts," Hasanov said.

Hasanov underscored that the attitude of the authorities to such facts is that the intentions of people willing to get a position in a roundabout way, or to be represented in electoral bodies are not being carried out, and never will be.

"Such people will sooner or later be exposed to the public," Hasanov said. "I have no doubt that the relevant bodies will take the necessary measures regarding the video spread online," he said.
