Embassy of Azerbaijan in the United States on behalf of the Foreign Ministry will have provide appropriate legal and consular assistance to Azerbaijan citizen Sevinj Tagiyeva born in 1980, charged by U.S. law enforcement autorities, Foreign Ministry spokesman Elman Abdullayev told Trend on Sunday.

Embassy of Azerbaijan in the United States on behalf of the Foreign Ministry will have provide appropriate legal and consular assistance to Azerbaijan citizen Sevinj Tagiyeva born in 1980, charged by U.S. law enforcement autorities, Foreign Ministry spokesman Elman Abdullayev told Trend on Sunday.

Currently Embassy investigates goal of finding Tagiyeva in the U.S. Consular officials could not meet with her yet. She is in custody in Houston.

For Tagiyeva have been charged by U.S. law enforcement autorities for violating export procedures.

According to Abdullayev, the law enforcement autorities in the U.S. immediately notified the Embassy of Azerbaijan after detention Tagiyeva.

According to the representative of the Foreign Ministry, no precise information of the nationality of the second detainee - Shovkat Abdullayev.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said that some individuals arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in Houston on suspicion of spying for the Russian defense and intelligence services have the Azerbaijani citizenship.
