Fifty percent of Lithuanian citizens have already voted in parliamentary elections in Baku, Lithuanian Embassy in Azerbaijan told Trend on Sunday.

Voting in a polling station set up at the Lithuanian Embassy in Azerbaijan began at 8 am local time, the Embassy said.

According to the Embassy, 50 Lithuanian citizens are registered in consular record at the diplomatic mission.

Polling stations for the elections to the Parliament and the referendum on the construction of new nuclear power plant opened on October 14 in Lithuania.

During the voting 141 people's representatives will be elected for period of four years. For seats in the Sejm claimed 1 927 candidates.

The country has a mixed electoral system, under which 71 deputies elected in single-seat constituencies and 70 - on party lists. So at the expense of a single member component - the election is a second phase, which will take place in two weeks on October 28.
