Construction of a new building of the Georgian parliament may be suspended.This issue was raised by majority at the meeting of the parliament on Monday.

MP from minority Akaki Bobokhidze, asked the ruling team to find 15-20 million lari to complete the construction work. However, the majority leaders David Saganelidze and Zakaria Kutsnashvili stated that as there is no final decision on whether the Parliament will stay in Kutaisi or the building will be given to a university, it suspend the construction.

MPs also stressed the high costs of the new building and reasonability of the return of the parliament to Tbilisi.

However, the chairman of the Committee on Sectoral Economy Zurab Tkemaladze informed the members of the Bureau on financial irregularities in the construction of a new parliament building and the construction problems that have emerged.

The question on holding state monitoring, approved by David Usupashvili, was raised at the meeting.
