An agreement on cooperation has been signed between the Interior Ministries of Azerbaijan and Italy, Azerbaijani Embassy in Italy told Trend.
Azerbaijani delegation led by Interior Minister Ramil Usubov is currently in Italy for participation in the 81st session of the General Assembly of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol). The visit will last till November 8.
The President of Interpol Khoo Boon Hui, the Secretary General Ronald K. Noble made speeches at the session. Representatives of some countries spoke on the achievements in the fight against crime and highlighted the importance of international cooperation in this field.
A number of meetings of Ramil Usubov with delegation leaders of other countries took place within the event.
An official meeting of Ramil Usubov Interior with Italian Interior Minister Anna Maria Cancellieri was held in the framework of the visit.
The two sides expressed satisfaction with the current level of bilateral relations between the two countries and noted the importance of exchanging experience in law enforcement field.
Ramil Usubov and his Italian counterpart signed an agreement on cooperation between the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan and Italy.
The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Italy Vagif Sadigov.
Azerbaijani delegation laid a wreath at the monument to the great Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi.
