Russian MPs to visit Georgia next year

In the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) Organization, head of Georgian delegation David Saganelidze invited the Russian delegation to the meeting of the organization, which will be held next October in Tbilisi.

Saganelidze made the proposal at a press conference on Wednesday on the results of the General Assembly of Parliamentary Assembly of BSEC held in Baku.

"There could be problems between the two countries from a political point of view, however, the BSEC is the structure of economic format. BSEC does not cover political issues and provides economic cooperation of the Black Sea countries," Saganelidze said.

The head of the Russian delegation to the PABSEC Mikhail Yemelyanov responded positively to the proposal. He said that the Russian side is also interested in cooperation in the framework of the BSEC.

"We accept your offer and promise not to lose your invitation letter," Yemelyanov said, referring to the loss of Azerbaijani invitation letter by Armenia.

The BSEC Chairmanship was passed from Azerbaijan to Bulgaria on Wednesday, the presidency will be passed to Georgia in May next year.
