It is decided to form new NATO mission instead of ISAF after 2014. The decision was made in Brussels at the meeting of foreign ministers of the countries participating in the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan (ISAF) , Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan said on Wednesday.
The objectives of the new mission will be training, advice and assistance.
Azerbaijan, as a supporter of NATO, as well as because of its significant contribution to the operation of ISAF, was accepted as a potential supporter of NATO operations in this mission. After that Azerbaijan will take part in the planning of the new mission.
At this stage, only seven countries except Azerbaijan, - Australia, Georgia, New Zealand, Ukraine, Finland, Sweden and Montenegro accepted as potential supporters of the operation.
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov also participates in the meeting.
