The report on the so-called "Political prisoners" in Azerbaijan wasn't adopted by PACE, what is a triumph of justice, the deputy of Milli Majlis (Parliament), Deputy Executive Secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan party, Mubariz Gurbanli said in an interview to the official website of the NAP on Thursday.
According to him, this fact is also the logical result of the just struggle of Azerbaijan.
Christopher Strasser is a tool in the hands of anti-Azerbaijani forces; the objective of this biased report was causing damage to the country's image.
According to the MP, some forces have tried to put pressure on Azerbaijan through the issue of the so-called "Political prisoners." However, due to the principal position of the Azerbaijani state and healthy forces in society these attempts of exerting pressure failed.
"Azerbaijan achieves advances in all fields, which is amongst factors strengthening its independence. Azerbaijan has made great achievements in the international arena. One can say that relations between Azerbaijan and foreign countries are expanding from year to year, which plays an important role in improving the prestige of the country in the international arena," Gurbanli added.
According to him, this fact certainly doesn't leave the occupier, Armenia, international forces protecting it, and the Armenian lobby indifferent. For these reasons, from time to time they spread biased information about Azerbaijan.
The so-called issue of "political prisoners" is also an integral part of it.
"However, as I said, the Azerbaijani government gives proper response to such attempts. Our delegation in PACE is actively pursuing the position of the country. At the same time, I consider that by opposing the report, the parliamentarians of other countries supported the truth and justice," he added.
