Yesterday Turkish parliament adopted a bill that envisages criminal punishment for those who finance terrorist organizations in the country, the Sabah newspaper reported.

Yesterday Turkish parliament adopted a bill that envisages criminal punishment for those who finance terrorist organizations in the country, the Sabah newspaper reported.

Under the bill, those who finance terrorists or terrorist organizations, will face imprisonment for five to 10 years.

The conflict between Turkey and the PKK, which requires creation of an independent Kurdish state, has lasted for over 25 years and claimed over 40,000 lives. The PKK is recognised as a terrorist organisation by both the UN and the EU.
