Azerbaijan, Baku, March 6 / Trend /

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has commented on the statement of Czech Foreign Minister Karel Schwarzenberg made at the award ceremony of People in Need organization on March 4.

"Taking into account the rapid development of relations between the two countries, in particular the recent presidential visits, voicing such statements does not correspond to the spirit of the existing relations between the two countries and can harm the cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic in the political, economic and humanitarian spheres," spokesman for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Elman Abdullayev told Trend today.

"If the Czech Foreign Minister made such a statement published in the press, we believe that this is biased and unfounded and wait for clarity and apology from the Czech Republic," Abdullayev said.

According to the Armenian media's publications, Czech Foreign Minister Karel Schwarzenberg has voiced a negative opinion at the award ceremony of People in Need organization.
