Among the organizers of the protests in Turkey, there are representatives of terrorist groups who organized the attack on the U.S. embassy in Ankara, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said during a press conference in Tunis, TRT Haber TV channel reported on Thursday.
Erdogan added that among those detained during the protests in Istanbul there are foreign nationals, but they are not officers of the diplomatic missions accredited in Turkey.
It is ninth day that protests against the reconstruction of the park Gezi in Taksim Square in Istanbul are continuing in different cities of Turkey.
Earlier, Erdogan said that the protests have ideological nature and are directed against the government.
