Azerbaijan, Baku, June 15 / Trend E. Mehdiyev /

The opposition leaders, who consider themselves as heralds of justice for various issues, do not raise the issue on Nagorno-Karabakh at the European Parliament, Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Political Analysis and Information Provision Department Head Elnur Aslanov said.

He made the remarks at the conference of the National Council of Azerbaijani Youth Organizations today.

"The individuals, conducting the meetings in Europe, do not voice positions on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and do not direct the world community's attention to this issue," Aslanov underscored.

"Why ASAIF, the National Council of Azerbaijani Youth Organizations and other similar organizations, representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora can hold forums on Nagorno-Karabakh, conferences, rallies in front of the various embassies, pickets abroad, and groups that are not satisfied with Azerbaijani authorities' policy, don't demonstrate their position?," Aslanov noted.

"We are not saying that everyone should be pleased. Of course, we live in a pluralistic, democratic society with freedom of expression," he noted.

Aslanov added that there may be those, who support the authorities' position, and can be, should be people who have different positions.

"This is normal. No one can and no one should think equally. But here we talk about national issues, national position and responsibility. Why some individuals refuse to understand this responsibility and the concept of statehood?," Aslanov noted.

He went on to note that unfortunately for more than 20 years, these people haven't put forward any proposal, any concept, and didn't carry out any activity in Azerbaijan's interests, national interests and country's development.

"It is hard to believe that they plan to put forward something in the future," he noted.
