Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has received a delegation led by the Vice-President of the National Assembly of Vietnam, Uong Chu Luu.

During the meeting, the Minister expressed satisfaction with the current level of bilateral relations between the two countries, stressed the importance of parliamentary diplomacy and the development of relations in the economic sphere, according to the website of the Ministry.

Mammadyarov said the economic relations between Azerbaijan and Vietnam have a high potential.

Noting the continued development of relations in the energy sector, the minister said that Azerbaijan is interested in further development of the successful cooperation between SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) and Petro Vietnam.

Mammadyarov informed the guest about the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, adding that the four resolutions of the UN Security Council calling for an immediate withdrawal of Armenian troops from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan have not yet been implemented by Armenia.

In turn, the guests thanked the Minister for his hospitality on behalf of the delegation and added that he was impressed by the development process in Azerbaijan.

He noted that there are deep and warm relations between Azerbaijan and Vietnam, The Vice-President expressed his gratitude to Azerbaijan for support in the preparation of professional personnel and stressed that professionals undergoing training in Azerbaijan occupy high positions in Vietnam.
