Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan will pay an official visit to Turkmenistan, Hurriyet newspaper reported on Tuesday.

According to the newspaper, the visit is scheduled for August 15 and will last one day. During his visit, Erdogan will hold a number of official meetings, including with the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

It is also expected that Erdogan will visit the Avaza national tourism zone, located near the city of Turkmenbashi.

Turkey holds fourth place in the total trade turnover of Turkmenistan. The volume of the mutual trade between the two countries amounted to $3.5 billion in 2010.

In 2013, there was a positive increase in Turkey's share in the foreign trade of Turkmenistan, while the share of exports is increasing and share of imports is decreasing.

Turkish companies in Turkmenistan are carrying out a number of projects, including the construction of roads, bridges, resort areas, universities and plants.
