Ruling Party: Human Rights House presentation of pre-election mood in Azerbaijan as causing concerns - unfounded

Azerbaijan, Baku, Aug. 24 /Trend M. Aliyev /

Human Rights House presentation of pre-election mood in Azerbaijan as one causing concerns, does not have any grounds, the Deputy Executive Secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan party, Member of Milli Mejlis (parliament) of Azerbaijan Mubariz Gurbanli said in an interview to the party's official website.

According to Gurbanli, this is a purposeful, totally biased and non-objective approach.

"This organization and the persons in its management have joined a black PR campaign against the independent Azerbaijan and its policies," the party's Deputy Executive Secretary said.

According to Gurbanli, it is possible to see that this organization is backed by the groups wishing to show events related to Azerbaijan with bias.

"It is already known that the organization's leadership include persons who have Armenian origins. The public knows that a person of Armenian descent is engaged in financial affairs of the Human Rights House. Overall, we have repeatedly expressed our position on these issues. Azerbaijan is a leader country in the South Caucasus region, our country has large reserves of oil and gas. The President of Azerbaijan carries out completely independent policy, and our position in foreign policy is based on principles of justice," Gurbanli said.

The Deputy Executive Secretary went on to add that, of course someone does not like the fact that Azerbaijan is carrying out an independent policy.

"There are several factors backed by the Armenian lobby. The Armenian lobby at all costs promotes a black PR campaign against Azerbaijan and tries to carry out this through its representatives in different organizations. But, it is not possible to exercise pressure on Azerbaijan and cause damage to country's authority with such actions," Gurbanli underscored.
