Modern Musavat party head to continue participation in Azerbaijan’s presidential elections

Presidential candidate and Modern Musavat Party chairman Hafiz Hajiyev said that certain forces acting under the dictation of some diplomatic missions accredited in Azerbaijan, put pressure on him.
"Despite this I decided to continue participation in the presidential election," he said. "Certain forces acting upon the orders of some embassies exerted pressure. However, despite this we decided to continue participating in the elections at today's enlarged party meeting."
While talking about financial difficulties, the party chairman has confirmed the existence of the problem. He added that this will not prevent the party continuing in the elections.
The information about removing Hajiyev's candidacy due to financial problems has been previously spread in Azerbaijan.
The presidential election will be held in Azerbaijan on October 9. The previous one was held on October 15, 2008.
The presidential election is held in Azerbaijan every five years.
