Turkey is fighting with Al-Qaeda, Turkish Interior Minister Muammer Guler said today, Anadolu agency reported.

According to Guler, around 345 people were detained during 104 anti-terrorist operations in Turkey in 2012-2013.

Around 129 of them were arrested.

Earlier, the minister denied accusations of some media that the country assists An-Nusra terrorist organization which is a Syrian wing of Al-Qaeda.

Guler said that one should not trust the information of web sites and portals, the objectivity of which is in doubt.

An-Nusra terrorist organization was created in January 2012 during a civil war in Syria and recognized as a terrorist organization by UN, as well as U.S., Australian and UK governments.

Clashes between government forces and the armed opposition have been continuing in Syria for over two years. According to UN statistics, the total number of victims of the conflict in Syria exceeds 110,000 people.
