Syrian president: International terrorism should not be used to put pressure on other countries

Azerbaijan, Baku, October 4/Trend, R.Hafizoglu/

Turkey will pay dearly for supporting terrorists in Syria, President Bashar al-Assad said in an interview with the Turkish Halk TV channel on Friday.

According to him, international terrorism should not be used for putting pressure on other countries.

Earlier, Turkish Interior Minister Muammer Guler disapproved of Syria's accusation about Ankara's support to terrorist groups in Syrian territory.

According to Guler, Turkey fights against Al Qaeda and other terrorist organisations.
The An-Nusra terrorist organisation was created in January 2012 during a civil war in Syria and recognised as a terrorist organisation by the UN, as well as the U.S., Australian and UK governments.

Clashes between government forces and the armed opposition have been continuing in Syria for over two years. According to UN statistics, the total number of victims of the conflict in Syria exceeds 110,000 people.
