"Bridge of Culture 2013" international festival was held at the Eotvos Lorand University in Hungary on Thursday and Friday.

The main purpose of the festival, organized with the support of the embassies and national communities, is to demonstrate and promote the culture, national cuisine and tourist potential of different peoples, the Azerbaijani embassy in Hungary told Trend on Friday.

The Azerbaijan-Hungary Youth Union represented Azerbaijan with the support of the country's embassy in Hungary.

The participants of the festival have shown great interest in 30 books on the culture, history and literature of Azerbaijan, which have been published in different years in the Hungarian language.

There was an attempt to hang the flag of unrecognized "Nagorno Karabakh Republic" at the stand of the Armenian cultural center.

The embassy staff and Azerbaijani students getting education in Hungary immediately protested and urged the organizers of the event to prevent such incidents.

The embassy delivered a note of protest to the Hungarian Foreign Ministry and the negotiations were held with the management of the Eotvos Lorand University. As a result, an attempt to show the flag of the unrecognized republic was prevented and the Armenians, engaged in provocation at the event, were excluded from participation in this event.

Besides Azerbaijan, representatives from the U.S., Malaysia, China, Israel, Austria, Italy, France and other countries attended the event.
