A NATO expert group will visit Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry told Trend today.
The visit which will begin on November 18 is connected with the establishment of a NATO Training Centre. The experts will meet with the Azerbaijani Defence Minister.

Azerbaijan actively participates in the restoration of peace and security in Afghanistan. The country's peacekeeping contingent in Afghanistan consists of 90 servicemen. In 1997 Azerbaijan established a company, then a battalion of peacekeepers as part of its Armed Forces.

Azerbaijan has also decided to expand its activity in non-military fields in Afghanistan. The collaboration began with the training of Afghan specialists in the field of mine clearance.

Preparatory operations are underway for the beginning of Azerbaijani military doctors' working in Afghanistan's hospitals, Afghan people's education at the Medical University and the participation of medical personnel in educational courses in Azerbaijan.

Afghan military personnel will also participate in educational courses at the Military Academy and other military schools, including Afghan student education in Azerbaijan.
