Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has called on supporters of Fethullah Gulen, a social activist, who currently resides in the U.S., to create a party for conducting a political struggle in a democratic way, Turkish Milliyet newspaper reported on Feb.17.

Gulen's supporters will conduct anti-propaganda before the municipal elections, according to Erdogan.

Earlier, the prime minister criticized the social activist Fethullah Gulen's movement and called it a parallel structure.

The parallel structure (Fethullah Gulen's movement) blackmails all political forces in the country including the opposition, according to Erdogan.

The prime minister also stressed that the purpose of this movement is to penetrate all the structures and state agencies.

"The parallel structure makes every effort to implement its insidious purpose in the country," Erdogan said.

This structure has ties with the law enforcement agencies of the country, according to the prime minister.

Erdogan pointed out that Turkey is not a country which can be controlled by using blackmail.

The municipal elections in Turkey will be held on March 30, 2014.
