The speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis (parliament) Ogtay Asadov and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani have discussed the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Iran, the Iranian ISNA news agency reported on Feb. 18.

The meeting between the Azerbaijani parliament speaker and Iranian president was held on February 18 in Tehran as part of the ninth meeting of the Islamic Inter-Parliamentary Union (IIPU).

During the meeting, the parties discussed aspects of developing bilateral relations as well as regional and international issues.

Tehran is hosting the ninth meeting of the Islamic Inter-Parliamentary Union (IIPU) at the level of parliamentary heads. The meeting is being attended by representatives of 47 countries. The IIPU meeting in Tehran will complete its work on February 19.

Azerbaijan is represented at the meeting by the speaker of Milli Majlis Ogtay Asadov.
