President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on the appointment of Adalat Muradov as rector of Azerbaijan State Economic University on March 5.
The university's rector Shamsaddin Hajiyev has been dismissed from the post in accordance to another decree of the president.
Prior to appointment to the post of rector, Adalat Muradov was the head of the Economic Policy, Analysis and Forecasting Department of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Economy and Industry.
Shamsaddin Hajiyev heads the Committee of Science and Education of Milli Majlis (parliament).
Adalat Muradov was born in 1962 in the Aghdam region.
Muradov graduated from the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kiev with a degree in Economics in 1990. Adalat Muradov became a Candidate of Economics in 1993 and Doctor of Economical Sciences in 1998. He is the author of more than 60 scientific and teaching aids.
Muradov was an associate professor of the Kiev National University from 1995 to 1999.
Afterwards he worked as an associate professor of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Azerbaijan.
Muradov is married and has two children.
