Baku, Azerbaijan, March 7
By Rufiz Hafizoglu - Trend:
Turkish President Abdullah Gul stated the impossibility of banning the use of YouTube and Facebook, the Turkish Anadolu news agency reported on March 7.
"The access to these networks will not be prohibited in the country, but what will be prohibited is the illegal spread of the materials on the statehood and private life of citizens," he said.
"In accordance with the legislation what is considered a crime, is a crime in the virtual space," according to the President.
The Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on March 6 that if necessary the issue of banning the use of Youtube and Facebook may be included on the agenda in order to protect citizens from external influences.
