Azerbaijani Defense Minister, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov received Chairman of the "Azerbaijani veterans of Afghanistan" Public Union, Mohammad Valiyev on March 19, the Defense Ministry reported.
The minister emphasized the example of veterans of the Afghan war in strengthening the patriotic education of youth, and noted the importance of continuation of this work in the future.
Valiyev spoke about the government care provided to veterans and their families, as well as the various activities undertaken by the public association in educational institutions during the meeting.
A decision was made on the establishment of the working group for joint work together with the Defense Ministry and "Azerbaijani veterans of Afghanistan" Public Union and preparation of an action plan.
