Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev expressed his condolences to the Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos on April 18 over the death of the writer Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
"Dear Mr. President, I have been deeply saddened by the news of the death of great writer and Nobel laureate Gabriel Garcia Marquez. I share in your grief over this irreparable loss and express my deepest condolences to you, the bereaved family and all the people of Colombia on my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan," President Ilham Aliyev's letter of condolence said.
