Defending Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity one of PACE main goals (UPDATE)

Defending the countries' territorial integrity, including that of Azerbaijan, is one of the main goals of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), according to the PACE President Anne Brasseur.

Brasseur made the remarks on May 23 at a press conference in Baku, Azerbaijan. She also congratulated Azerbaijan on the success in ratifying the conventions of PACE.

During the conference, the PACE president said Azerbaijan faces some problems in such areas as human rights and freedom of assembly.

Brasseur also said that the PACE Standing Committee's meeting in Baku touched upon the issue of the so-called political prisoners.

It should be noted that today, Baku hosted a meeting of the Standing Committee of the PACE.
