Azerbaijan applied good management practices in both the public and private sector in recent years. Significant progress was achieved in the provision of public services to citizens, said the coordinator of OSCE on Economic and Environmental issues Halil Yurdakul Yigitguden.
He was speaking at the opening ceremony of the international conference "Public service delivery in the context of human rights and good governance," held in Baku within the framework of Azerbaijan's chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.
He added that Azerbaijan can be proud of the example set by the centers of "ASAN service", noting that there can be no question of social justice without good governance.
Alfonso Zardi, head of governance department and democratic institutions of the Council of Europe stressed the importance of the topic for public service delivery to the population of Europe.
"Quality public services provision is of great importance on the territory of the Council of Europe, and in this case it is important to collect best practices, opinions and recommendations of the experts in this area," Zardi said.
He added that the public services provision issues are found in various documents of the Council of Europe. Zardi stressed the importance of such conference for building links between the various structures in the field of good governance and the provision of public services to the population, as well as the exchange of experiences.
