Azerbaijan intends to develop relations with Brazil in humanitarian, economic spheres

Deputy Interior Minister of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov received the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brazil for cooperation, culture and commerce Hadila Fontes da Rocha Vianna, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan told Trend Oct.1.

During the meeting, Halafov welcomed the level of cooperation between the two countries, he said that there is great potential for further development of relations in the cultural, humanitarian and commercial fields. He also stressed the active co-operation within the framework of international organizations.

Vianna, who arrived to Azerbaijan for the second time, praised the role of embassies in the development of relations between the two countries. He said that despite the economic crisis, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Brazil has increased, so Azerbaijan is a reliable partner of Brazil.

During the meeting Khalafov also touched upon the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Noting that this conflict is a serious threat to the region, Khalafov said that Armenia didn't implement the resolution of the Security Council of the UN.

The deputy minister also elaborated on the large-scale projects implemented in the region and stressed the role of these projects in development of cooperation and increase of trade turnover.

Representatives of the countries also discussed other issues of mutual interest
