Croatia is interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan in the energy sector because it plays an important role in ensuring the energy security of Europe.
The Principal Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Croatia, Vesna Pusic made the remarks at the meeting with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, according to the press service of the Foreign Ministry.
Mammadyarov said that Azerbaijan and Croatia have close relationships and praised the current state of relations. He stressed the importance of mutual visits in the development of relationships and the importance of their increase in the future.
The Foreign Minister briefed the guest on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and negotiation process for its settlement, praised Croatia's position on the Karabakh conflict, based on the UN Charter and international law.
In turn, Pusic noted the successful cooperation of countries in a number of areas, in particular in the field of shipbuilding.
