HRW’s attitude to Azerbaijan relies on various interests

Baku, Azerbaijan, Nov. 14

By Elchin Mehdiyev - Trend:

The Human Rights Watch (HRW) organization's attitude towards Azerbaijan has been formed and is based on a variety of interests, the Azerbaijani parliament vice speaker, Bahar Muradova told Trend Nov. 14.

She was commenting on the HRW's criticism of Azerbaijan's chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe (CoE).

Muradova said it is not worth to expect something more from the HRW, because they do not want to see changes, regardless of the reform, realization of projects, and Azerbaijan's chairmanship in international organizations.

She also said the HRW has only one attitude towards Azerbaijan, and any of Azerbaijan's activities will be presented by the HRW as a lack of development.

Muradova added that regardless of statements, Azerbaijan's chairmanship of the CoE Committee of Ministers has been important both for the country and for the CoE.

Members of various organizations, parliamentarians and politicians witnessed Azerbaijan's works throughout its CoE Committee of Ministers chairmanship, she stressed.
