Azerbaijan and EU will discuss bilateral cooperation in the field of human rights during EU Special Representative for Human Rights Stavros Lambiridis’s visit to Baku, the EU representative office in Baku told Trend Feb. 23.

Azerbaijan and EU will discuss bilateral cooperation in the field of human rights during EU Special Representative for Human Rights Stavros Lambiridis's visit to Baku, the EU representative office in Baku told Trend Feb. 23. The visit will last from February 23-26.

Lambiridis will hold several meetings with senior officials of Azerbaijan as part of the visit.

Lambiridis took office on September 1, 2012. Its mission is to improve the efficiency and the external presentation of EU policy in the field of human rights.

Azerbaijan and EU are cooperating as part of the Eastern Partnership program.

This program of the European Union aims to develop the integration ties with six countries, namely, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Moldova, Armenia, Georgia and Belarus.
