President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev will pay an official visit to Azerbaijan on Oct. 12, the Kazakh media reported Sept. 22 citing Natig Aliyev, Azerbaijan's energy minister, as saying.
“We look forward to President Nazarbayev’s visit to Azerbaijan,” the minister said at the 13th meeting of the Kazakh-Azerbaijani intergovernmental economic cooperation commission. “We deeply respect the Kazakh president for his wisdom, attitude towards Azerbaijan.”
The minister said the fraternal relations between the presidents of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are the two pillars on which all the political, economic and friendly relations between the two independent countries are based.
President Nazarbayev will visit Azerbaijan, Armenia, Serbia and some other countries in 2016, Erlan Idrissov, Kazakh foreign minister, said earlier.
According to the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee, trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan amounted to $90.7 million, $75 million of which accounted for the imports from Kazakhstan.
The 13th meeting of the Azerbaijani-Kazakh intergovernmental economic cooperation commission is being held in Astana, Kazakhstan on Sept. 22 under the chairmanship of Natig Aliyev, Azerbaijani energy minister, and Kanat Bozumbayev, Kazakh energy minister.
The sides are discussing such areas as economy, energy, transport, agriculture, environmental protection and culture, as well as the supply of Kazakh oil and oil products from Azerbaijan to world markets, and organizing exhibitions and business forums.
