Ambassador: Lithuania, Azerbaijan can further develop relations

There are no boundaries for further development of relations between Lithuania and Azerbaijan, Lithuanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Valdas Lastauskas told Trend Oct. 1.
It is always possible to develop these relations, and Lithuania is pleased with the fact that over the last two years there has been more cooperation between the parliaments, the municipalities of the two countries, and good contacts were established between the local authorities, the ambassador said.
Lithuania, as a member of the European Union, is pleased with the development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the EU, and the opening of the EuroVillage 2016 in Baku Oct. 1 will create new opportunities for this, said Lastauskas.
The EuroVillage 2016 was organized within the framework of joint cooperation with the EU member states. Its goal is to promote the EU by introducing people to the Union’s culture and different traditions.
There are good opportunities to develop cooperation between Azerbaijan and Lithuania, the country’s ambassador noted.
High level of contacts in the humanitarian sphere, friendly relations between the two peoples always create good conditions for cooperation in the economic sphere, Lastauskas added.
