President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his wife Mehriban Aliyeva attended the opening of a new park in front of Baku Convention Center December 26.
The president cut the ribbon symbolizing the inauguration of the park.
President Aliyev and Mehriban Aliyeva viewed the park.
Designed by well-known Austrian architect Jans Hoffman, the park occupies a total area of 7 hectares.
More than 300 trees, 50,000 flowers and bushes were planted in the park. It has four recreation zones, including sports and children`s areas.
A fountain and artificial lakes were created there.
There is also a skating rink, which occupies an area of 2,130 square metres and will be operational in all seasons.
