President Aliyev congratulated the participants on the beginning of the 23rd Azerbaijan International Telecommunications and Information Technologies Exhibition and wished them success in their future activities.

For Azerbaijan and many other countries of the world as well as for companies, Bakutel 2017 plays the role of an international platform where the latest achievements in high technologies are presented, President Aliyev said.

"Information and communication technologies have become a favorable tool for ensuring sustainable development, strengthening intellectual potential and promotion of business, and they have become an important factor for increasing transparency in society,” said the message. “In our country, where this sphere is declared a priority and e-services are maximally used at all levels of state management, a systematic and consistent work is being carried out with an aim to bring the existing ICT infrastructure in line with modern standards."

“The launch of the first telecommunications satellite of Azerbaijan in February 2013 is one of our biggest technical achievements in the period of independence. We are now preparing to put into orbit the next telecommunications satellite,” the President's message reads.

“Thanks to complete transition to digital broadcasting in Azerbaijan, the country’s population today has the opportunity to watch TV programs and listen to radio broadcasts in high quality without interruptions. The range and volume of postal and telecommunication services have increased, the infrastructure as a whole has been modernized,” the message noted.

Being demonstration of success and advanced technological innovations, the traditional exhibition BakuTel also means the opportunity to establish business ties and exchange of experience as well as direct acquaintance with Azerbaijan, according to the President's message.

“I am convinced that forthcoming fruitful meetings, reports and speeches within the exhibition and conference will contribute to successful implementation of new initiatives and further deepening of our relations,” the President's message reads.
