BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 30. Baku Conference of Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Parliamentary Network, under the motto ‘Boosting the role of national parliaments in promoting global peace and sustainable development’, began its work at Heydar Aliyev Center, on June 30.
Chair of Azerbaijani Parliament (Milli Mejlis) Sahiba Gafarova informed the participants about the agenda of the Conference during her speech, Trend reports.
Gafarova said that the ‘Baku Declaration’ and the ‘Charter on the Rules of Procedure of the NAM Parliamentary Network’ were adopted at the conference.
According to Gafarova, the official logo and flag of the organization were also approved, and the chairman and vice-chairmen were elected.
The conference is attended by parliamentary delegations from more than 40 countries, also representatives of nine international parliamentary organizations.
