AUTHORITIES ARE MOST INTERESTED IN FAIR AND FREE ELECTIONS, SAYS A SENIOR STATE OFFICIAL

If there is a party, interested in democratic, transparent and unbiased parliamentary elections, that will be the Azerbaijani authorities.

Following the announcement, the head of the Presidential Administration’s sociopolitical department Ali Hassanov told Trend that the authorities would do their utmost to have the upcoming parliamentary elections conducted in a fair manner. The voting has been scheduled for November.

В"We, as representatives of the authorities, will mobilize all our efforts to hold democratic and transparent elections in the country. There are enough opportunities for that, including the Electoral Code of the Azerbaijan Republic, and the activity of election commissions also allows to saying so. The most important thing is a staunch intention and will of the people of Azerbaijan toward the holding of democratic elections. Therefore, there is no reason for anyone to query the voting process. I assure that the authorities in Azerbaijan will make everything to ensure democratic elections,” Hassanov noted.
