EUROPEANS TO PREPARE REPORT ON AZERBAIJANI REFUGEES

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe will prepare a report on the plight of IDPs and refugees in Azerbaijan.

Following the announcement, the head of the Azerbaijani Cabinet’s department of refugees and IDPs, migration and cooperation with international organizations, Gurban Sadigov told Trend that the document would be drawn up by Boris Tsilevitch, a representative of PACE Committee for migration, refugees and population.

In the framework of the run-up to the preparation of the report, Tsilevitch, a member of Latvian Seym (parliament), will visit Azerbaijan on July 1. The agenda of the visit includes trips to refugee camps, meetings with refugees and internally displaced persons, getting acquainted with living conditions of refugees and IDPs, and the monitoring of the current state of affairs.

The report, to be prepared on the basis of the above monitoring, will be submitted to the Cabinet for consideration.
