The USA will allocate to Azerbaijan and Armenia grants in the amount of per $ 5 million for military purposes in 2006. The decision has been taken by the House of Representatives of the US Congress at the sitting last Tuesday night, Trend reports.

The Chamber approved the draft law on assignments for foreign operations for 2006. The document had been supported by 393 congressmen and 32 voted against’.

The interesting thing is, that the congressmen refused to approve allocating military aid to Uzbekistan for 2006 in the amount of $ 4 million, grounding it by changing circumstances in Uzbekistan’. Along with this, the Baltic countries will get per $5 million of aid.

According to the Information service of the US State Department, the program of foreign military financing’ is a crucially important tool of the US foreign policy for promoting the US interests throughout the whole world”. Within this program the foreign partners on coalition and friendly governments are allocated grants for acquisition of American defense equipment, services and training". After adopting the bill by the House of Representatives, it must be agreed upon with the Senate version of the document, which consideration started on Tuesday in profile committee on assignments.
