IT’S TOO IMMATURE TO SPEAK ABOUT VIOLATION OF ELECTIONS LAW IN AZERBAIJAN, RUSSIAN DIPLOMAT

All facilities have been offered in Azerbaijan for holding transparent and democratic elections in the country, Leonid Slutskiy, the vice-chairman of the committee on international affairs of the Russian State Duma [parliament], also the vice head of the Russian delegation at the PACE, told a news conference held in Baku.

Lutskiy noted that he personally studied the Azerbaijani law on Elections and it fully meets the requirements of the international organizations. В"There is no ground to speak about serious gaps. I know that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev attaches great importance to the elections processes,В" said the diplomat, who will participate in the monitoring of voting on 5 November.

В"Russian experts, including me, will arrive in Baku within the composition of the PACE observation mission and will do everything possible to achieve the conclusion by the international mission to meet the reality,” said the Russian diplomat, noting the dual approach by international instances towards the situation in the post-Soviet republics in most cases.
