HEAD OF AZERBAIJAN’S FM AND SPECIAL ENVOY OF GEORGIAN PRESIDENT DISCUSSED MEASURES OF CONFIDENCE IN REGION

The general spectrum of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia was discussed yesterday, on 5 July, at the meeting of the head of the Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry (FM), Elmar Mammadyarov with the visiting head of the Abkhazia Autonomous Republic in exile, a special envoy of the Georgian President during the Georgian-Abkhasian talks, Irakli Alasaniya, head of the Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry’s information department, Tair Thirsade told Trend.

According to him, Alasaniya informed the Minister on the situation in the Abkhasiya issue. The minister, in his turn, informed him of the course of negotiations, aimed at the settlement of the Azerbaijani-Armenian conflict. The issue of the communication system development has been also discussed in the context of the establishing the confidence measures in the region.
