�POLITICAL PRISONERS’ LIST TO BE CLARIFIED AT WoRKING GROUP’S NEXT MEETING

On the second meeting of the human rights defenders with the officials of Azerbaijan, held on July 8 at the Milli Mejlis (Parliament), the topic of the “political prisoners” issue’s final decision has been discussed, a meeting’s participant, head of the Committee on democracy and human rights, Chingiz Ganizade told Trend.

According to him, the human rights activists, taking part in the meeting, noted the sufficient number of political inmates in Azerbaijani prisoners, despite the President’s Decrees on pardoning.

After discussions the list of �political prisoners’ has been recommended to clarify once more. The decision has been taken to put on discussion the unified list of “political prisoners”, prepared by the human rights activists at the working group’s third meeting on 22 July.

According to Ganizade, the following human rights activists took part in the working group’s meeting: Novella Djafaroglu, Saida Godjamanli, Saadat Benanyarli, Eldar Zeynalov, Rena and Murad Sadeddinovs, Sahib Mammadov and Zaliha Tagirova.

From the part of the government the meeting’s participants are: head of the law-enforcement department of the President’s executive office, Fuad Aleskerov, head of the pardoning sector, Kamalya Husseynova, chief consultant on human rights defense sector, Otari Gvaladze, the Foreign Ministry head of the department, Tair Tagizade, members of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE, Samed Seyidov, Gyultekin Hadjieyeva, Ali Husseynov, and the Prosecutr General’s office, Justice Ministry’s, Interiour Minister’s officials.
