The OSCE Minks Group co-chairs appreciate the results of the visit to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict region, Russian Ambassador Yuriy Merzlyakov, the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair, told Trend.
According to Merzlyakov, during the tour of [Armenian-Azerbaijani] Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone вЂ" Baku, Khankandi and Yerevan - the mediators had deep discussions on the conflict resolution, including the talks on the top.
The OSCE MG co-chairs are probable to meet prior to a meeting of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Foreign Ministers in Moscow on 23 August and Presidents Robert Kocharian and Ilham Aliyev in Kazan. Merzlyakov said that the mediators plan to hold preparations for the forthcoming meetings via Internet.
The diplomat said that up to the Moscow meeting of the FMs the do not plan to hold any talks. В"However, if there appears such necessity, the sides can determine and initiate such a meeting,” he added.
Touching upon the issue on possibility and terms of the development of a draft peace agreement on the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Merzlyakov underlined that it would be so unserious to speak about the development of an agreement within a month.
“We could consider the initiatives by the sides on the issue of a joint declaration or a statement. But as far as I know there is no such desire,” he stressed. The adoption of any declaration or a statement as a result of a Kazan meeting depends on the conflict sides, he underscored.
