“President Ilham Aliyev will also participate in the summit of the heads of CIS states, which will be held in Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan, from 26-27 August. The program of the summit has not been submitted to the sides, but the President’s visit program is very rich,” Novruz Mammadov, the head of the International Relations Department of the President’s Apparat, told Trend in an exclusive interview. Besides, the Azerbaijani President will have some bilateral meetings during the visit to Kazan.
“President Ilham Aliyev will participate at the discussions of some issues at the summit of the heads of the CIS states. Obviously, we will defend the position of Azerbaijn, ” Novruz Mammadov said. The meeting of Azerbaijani and Armenian Presidents is planned within the summit.
“It is difficult to forecast the issues, which will be discussed by the Presidents. The negotiations is expected to end in achievement of a certain success in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. On the other hand our position is unchangeable. The talks will be directed at the settlement of the conflict within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan” Mammadov noted.
The meeting of the Azerbaijani and Armenian Presidents will be followed by a meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs on August 23.
