NO PROBLEM OF CONCERN EXISTS IN AZERI-RUSSIAN BORDER, STATE BORDER CHIEF ASSURES

There does not exist any problem between Azerbaijan and Russia in border issues, which could excite concerns, Elchin Guliyev, the chief of State Border Service, told journalists on Saturday. He was commenting on the recent statement by Russian President Vladimir Putin on the consolidation of the Azerbaijani-Russian state border.

He stressed the stable development of mutual cooperation between the two countries in this sphere. В"We are aware of President Putin’s visit to the border region and meetings held there. During the gatherings the head of the Russian Southern Federal Province reported to the President on absence of any serous problem in the Azerbaijani-Russian state border,” Guliyev underlined.

As to statements by Alu Alkhanv, the President of the Chechen Republic, who urged after the blasts in Chechnya on delivery of assistance to the armed groups from Azerbaijan, Guliyev said that Azerbaijan guards its borders reliably. В"Necessary measures are taken for establishment of the border infrastructure,” he underscored.
